Yesterday I uploading quite a few photos that I took while on honeymoon with my husband Adam. We were staying at the Marigot Bay Hotel in St. Lucia. A couple of photos were taken at the hotel, but most were from the botanical gardens in the town of Soufriere, a few were from a trail bike tour near the beach of Anse Chastanet, and one was from a horseback ride in Rouseau Valley.
I am currently sitting in my fiance's apartment in Okazaki, Japan.

Let me explain.

My fiance is currently attending a school called Yamasa Institute, which is meant to teach foreigners how to speak, read, and write Japanese. He is taking classes with people from around the world, all trying to learn the same language. Unfortunately, he is attending for a full year. So, I had to go visit him!

During his school's spring break, we spent a week in Tokyo and a week in Osaka. We also visited the cities of Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Nagoya. I have been taking a lot of photos, although not all of them turned out very well (aside from my personal limitations, the weather has been somewhat uncooperative as well, giving me icky white skies almost every day).

So! I have picked out the best photos and will be uploading over the next few days. The sakura photos will be uploaded as a group last, so check back for a digital hanami!
I have finally gotten around to sorting through my plant photos, and have many lined up for submission. I will be uploading the photos in chronological order... They span from 2007 to 2009. Most of these photos were taken during day trips to various regional gardens with the University of Delaware Horticulture Club (udel.edu/stu-org/HortClub/).

Some photo locations:
Gibralter Gardens
Goodstay Gardens
Longwood Gardens (twice)
Tyler Arboretum
White Clay Creek
Dumbarton Oaks
Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens
Meadowlark Gardens
Philadelphia Flower Show (twice)
Fair Hill
Mount Cuba

I hope you all enjoy!
I just came back from a month-long study abroad across Costa Rica. Tonight I went through my hundreds of photographs, chose the ones I like the most, and uploaded them all tonight. Enjoy!
Today I decided that I really need to upload some of my photos from the past 2 years. I have a lot of photos that I am pleased enough with to submit, but simply have been too lazy to do so before. I will be uploading at least a few photos each day until I have caught up with myself. So, keep checking back!

Btw, I am really amazed at the good response I have already gotten on the photos I uploaded today. Hugs to everyone out there who commented or faved!
Today I joined :iconpokedex: because I used to really like Pokemon a lot, and seeing everyone else's contributions to the project around the site motivated me to make my own.

Sad fact is though, my submission to the project is very likely to become my most popular deviant ever. My Outlaw Star fanart from a million years ago is my top-faved picture. I am sure the same will happen with this.

Why is that sad? Well, I just feel that people's original works should get more recognition than fanart. Some fanart can be really great, but I feel as though sometimes pictures become really popular just because what they are based on is popular, not so much because of the quality of the work. *sigh* Oh well. It simply demonstrates the most common interests of this community, I suppose.
